A typical Fingerprint Recognition System combines several key elements including the Fingerprint Sensor and the Bio-Engine.

A sensor is a hardware component that captures the fingerprint image and it can be either a touch sensor or a swipe sensor. The Bio-Engine is a piece of software that resides on a processing system (laptop, mobile phone, MP3 player etc) and its function is to enrol, identify and verify the person’s fingerprint. The person either places or slides their finger over the sensor and once the image is captured the Bio-Engine then processes the image to give the resultant pass or fail.

Innometriks provides proprietary software that seamlessly binds together the other elements ensuring improved system performance and security. Our open architecture solution enables our partners to integrate sensors and bio-engines from multiple vendors and provides the following benefits.

  • Sensor/Bio Engine Interoperable – designs can be used with a range of sensors and bio engines.
  • Easily integrated into existing system architecture and new product designs
  • High repeatability and performance
